Q. - Do you have the authority to perform weddings and do we need to go through premarital counseling?
A. - I am an ordained minister/Celebrant and legally allowed to officiate weddings across the State of CA. I offer complementary consultation for us to get to know each other and listen to your inspiration for your wedding ceremony but, it is not a premarital counseling. You do not need to go through premarital counseling.
Q. -What is the difference in between an Officiant and a Celebrant?
A. - “Celebrant”, is a Wedding Officiant who specializes in ceremony writing and performance; focusing exclusively on this area of expertise.
Celebrants provide consultation with their couple. They will listen and learn in depth about the couple’s personal stories, cultural, religious, family or ethnic traditions, and goals and beliefs. Based on what was learned, the personalized ceremony is crafted –in collaboration with their bride and groom- The Celebrant will make suggestions on readings, organization, poetry etc.
Celebrants are professionals. They are timely. They know the details of ceremony set-up. They can handle last minute changes with style and grace. They perform the ceremony with warmth and sincerity while retaining a strong presence. They offer support. They are always available to family members and other participants, such as readers, to answer questions. (I am a Celebrant).
Q. -What are the marriage license requirements and do we need to have a witness?
A. -Please check my “Marriage License page” that has detail information and give you their County fees, their websites, addresses and phone numbers. To get your marriage license you do not need to have a witness but, in California, at least one witness is required (you can choose up to 2 witnesses) to observe the solemnization for a regular, public ceremony and they sign the marriage license at that time. No witnesses are required to observe a confidential marriage ceremony. A regular license may be used throughout the state. However, the confidential license may only be used in the county of issue.
Q. -What parts of the ceremony can be customized? Can we write our own vows and how long will our wedding take?
A. -I’m happy to personalize your ceremony. I am here to help you make your dream a beautiful reality! And will be working closely with you during your ceremony development. I have several examples of romantic & traditional “I DO” or “Repeat After Me” vows that you may use or you may both write your own (I’m here to help with that as well). I have no restrictions. If you have children, I have several suggestions in how we can incorporate them or other family members.
I customized each ceremony therefore for your personalized wedding ceremony, it can be anywhere between 15-30 minutes, depending how many elements you select for your ceremony. For the brief ceremony, it will last about10 minutes.
Q. -Where can the wedding ceremony take place?
A. - I’m happy to travel to your wedding location. Most of the ceremonies I perform take place at the venue that my couple has chosen (resorts, beach, restaurants, chapel etc) or in a private residence. For those couples that want an alternative to a "Court house Wedding" and have a total wedding group of about 8 people, I offer my office with selection of Outside Gazebo or Inside Fire place. For additional information, please refer to my "Services and Price page".
Q. –Do you marry couples that live out of California (another State or Country) or do I need to be a CA resident to be legally married in CA?
A. – I have married number of couples that have come from England, Germany, Canada etc. Also, from Texas, Arizona, New York etc. I’m happy to help you with your “Destination Wedding” and coordinate all the details of your customized ceremony through phone calls and emails. In addition I’ll provide you with information about how to get your CA marriage license.
Anyone from any country or any other State ( See more at my marriage license page), at any time can be legally married in California. For Example: You may be here for your “Destination Wedding” or on vacation with no plans of staying in CA, but can be legally married here.
Q. -We are a gay/lesbian/interfaith/non-spiritual/etc. couple – will you officiate our ceremony?
A. - I welcome couples of every and all orientations and all walks of life, religion (personal beliefs, & family traditions) and background. I’m more than happy to perform your wonderful personalized ceremony that truly reflects both of your love as I have done it for many of my gay/lesbian couples. I'm so glad that our State allows me to marry "all couples that are in love".
Q. - How do we guarantee that you are available for our date and time ? Also, how much do you charge for our ceremony?
A. -Simply contact me (via email, phone or by completing the short form that you can find at my “Contact Information Page” ) and I will let you know if your date is available on my calendar. In addition, knowing that budget is important I’ll include my fees and options for your complementary consultation meeting.
I want you to have time to decide, therefore at our free/no obligation meeting I’ll provide you with my short registration form. If you decide that you would like me to perform your wedding, simply send me an email and I will "pencil in” your date and reserve it for one week until I receive the registration form and retainer. The balance of the payment is due prior to the wedding day.
For fee information, please refer to my Services and Prices page. You will find several “Ceremony Packages” to serve your specific budget requirements.
Q. - Will I automatically receive an official copy of my marriage license?
A. - After the wedding you must request to receive an official (certified) copy of your Marriage License. The certified copy must be requested by one of the couple (only the husband or Wife is authorized). Please remember to request it.

David said - Rosie is a gem! Especially if you are looking for someone to do a bilingual ceremony, this lady knows her stuff. From the second you hire her, you can rest assured that everything will be taken care of timely, professional, the way you want, with love, care and expertise. Our service was completely customized, fully bilingual, we had no wedding planner, had limited time to rehearse the day of Ceremony, had many people involved in the ceremony who had never seen it, and had a large wedding party that couldn't all be present at same time. Yet Rosie showed up early as promised and seemed to descend on us all with order and calm. She organized and somehow managed a rehearsal and made sure those absent were briefed as she could get to each. All the while she managed to get what was needed and fit the pieces together, as well as continually reassure us that everything was fine and would be beautiful the way we wanted it. She was so RIGHT! Everything came together and We had the ceremony WE had envisioned... it was completely OURS and so beautiful. Thank you Rosie for taking such good care of us, our families and friends...You are a kind soul that holds a special place in our hearts.
Jeanette C - We can't thank Rosie enough for everything she did for us. She made the process of planning our ceremony so easy, and explained everything from the ceremony to all the paper work that goes along with it. We had procrastinated on booking an officiant until 2 weeks before our wedding, and we decided on Rosie completely on her reviews. She was so accommodating and sweet, and made us feel at ease. We even changed a few details of the ceremony minutes before and she just went with it. If you want someone to officiate your wedding who genuinely cares about each couple she comes across, go with Rosie. Thank you so much for everything, Rosie! =)
Jackie- I wish I could go higher than 5!! She was amazing and so fun to work with. Rosie was extremely flexible working with our changes and requests . We were out of State and planning a wedding was challenging at times but she made the process so easy and fun. She always had time to return our calls and emails when we needed something and in a timely manner. We received so many compliments on our ceremony, it was short but didn't feel rushed. She had a very calming and relaxing feeling which carried over to everyone in the room. I would definitely recommend her to everyone !! Jackie
Gabie -The first time I saw and heard Rosie perform a ceremony was a little more than 2 years ago. I remember telling myself, "If I ever get married, I want her to be my Officiant." On August 10,2013 I had the pleasure of having Rosie as my Officiant. We had a magical wedding. As a blended family I wanted to have a special ceremony. I introduced to Rosie the idea of having a Gold Fish blended ceremony. Rosie had no hesitation and agreed. My husband and I are so happy we happen to find her. She is very kind, heartwarming and very patient.
